CHIEF FRANCIS ARHIYOR SENSITIZE TRANSPORTERS ON HOW TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS IN PUBLIC MOTOR PARKS IN DELTA

The chairman of the Delta State Management Committee on Public Motor Parks, Chief Francis Arhiyor has called on transporters not to see the partial relaxation of the lockdown in the state as the end of COVID 19 but rather continue to adhere to the stipulated precautionary measures.

Chief Arhiyor made the call on Friday May 8 2020 at the Uvwie Central Motor Park when he held a sensitization parley with branch executives of the body to preach the message on how to curtail the spread of COVID 19 in public motor parks across the state.

The various branch executives observed the hand washing with soap under running water before allowing entrance into the hall as well as maintained physical distance in their sitting position in the hall venue.



The Delta State Chairman of the Delta State Management Committee on Public Motor Park, Chief Francis Arhiyor who presided over the sensitization parley, said that after the partial relaxing of the lockdown in the state by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the body set up a task force committee to ensure compliance to wearing of face masks by transporters as well as observing of physical distance among their passengers.

Chef Arhiyor expressed satisfaction on the level of compliance to the state government directives to commercial transporters on the number of passengers to carry and also the wearing of face masks by them and their passengers.

The Delta State Management Committee on Public Motor Park added that coronavirus is a global pandemic that is ravaging the world and is only transmitted from an effected person to another.

Chief Arhiyor stressed that coronavirus is a droplets from saliva and body fluids from an effected person and as such advised that Deltans should always put on their face masks, wash their hands regularly with soap and running water, sneeze into tissue paper  maintained social distancing, avoid crowded places as well as adhere to all precautionary measures from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

For his part, the Deputy State Chairman of the body, Comrade Augustine Igumbor in an interview used the medium to thank Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for relaxing the lockdown as well as giving out palliative to the vulnerable and poor during the four weeks of COVID 19 stay at home.

While speaking on the importance of putting on face masks  the State Secretary of the body Comrade Benjamin Ebrusike said that the face mask help to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 virus.

The State Treasurer of the body, Comrade Charles Kwode lauded the state chairman Chief Francis Arhiyor for always ensuring that transporters adhere to the various health tips from the NCDC towards curtailing the spread of coronavirus.

It is obvious that with the atmosphere of the sensitization parley that each branch executive will take the message to the different public motor parks in their domain.
