As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to mark this year's Children's Day, a Niger Delta youth leader, Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu has called for a collaborative efforts in the fight against Child Abuse in Nigeria.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu in a Tweeter message on Wednesday morning, noted that in spite of the huge natural and human resources, Nigeria is one of the countries where child abuse is rampart.

The youth leader stressed that the high rate of child abuse has negatively impacted on the progress and development of the Nigerian child.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu attributed the high rate of Child Abuse to illiteracy, poverty and poor implementations of Children's Right Laws in the country.

He stressed that it's high time to say no to Child Abuse and as such implored all relevant authorities to play their roles by prosecuting those involved in child trafficking, domestic child abuse, among other Child Abuse.

The Niger Delta youth leader however noted with sadness that children in Nigeria will not be able to observe their celebration this year as usual due to the COVID 19 pandemic but urged them to use the stay at home to study their books.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu who is the CEO of Don Daddys Dive Offshore Service Limited, charged children in the country to aspire to be great in life by taking their studies seriously and also appealed to parents as well as guardians to ensure their children and wards have access to quality education and good morals in order to become leaders of tomorrow.
