CHIEF OBOREVWORI CALLS ON DELTANS TO BE SECURITY CONSCIOUS

*SSA TO GOVERNOR ON SECURITY CHARGES DELTANS TO COMPLY WITH GOVT'S ORDER ON FACE MASKS IN PUBLIC PLACES...*

*...Calls for Security Consciousness among Deltans*

Osubi-

A Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the Governor on Security, Chief Blessing Oborevwori has charged Deltans to be more security conscious as criminals now pretend to be COVID-19 health workers to get access into residential premises to rob residents of cash and other valuables.

Chief Oborevwori gave the charge at Osubi at the weekend while speaking with newsmen on the security implications of COVID-19 for Nigerians.

He stressed the need for Deltans to comply with the State Govt's order on the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places towards curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the State.

On the partial relaxation of the lockdown order in the State by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief Oborevwori thanked the Governor for making life easier for Deltans, and advised against taking the gesture for granted, so as not to erode the gains of the 28 days sit-at-home order in the long run.

Hon. Oborevwori urged market traders, food sellers in particular, to wear their face masks while attending to their customers, maintain social distancing, as well as practice personal and environmental hygiene at all times in the interest of all.

The Governor's Aide commended health workers for putting their lives on the line to save the lives of others, and appreciated journalists for educating and informing Nigerians on the precautionary measures put in place by Govt and NCDC to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The former Okpe Local Govt Chairmanship candidate noted that the health of Deltans is of paramount importance to the Delta State Govt, and urged Deltans to wash their hands regularly with soap and running water or use alcohol-based sanitizers, and avoid over-crowded places always.

Recall that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ordered the production of one million face masks for distribution to Deltans as a support from the Delta State Government to curb the spread of the killer virus in the State.

The Okowa-led Govt had also set up a food bank from which food stuffs were distributed to Deltans through Local Govt Chairmen and community executives, to cushion the economic effects of the lockdown order on the people.
