PARTIAL RELAXING OF THE STATE LOCKDOWN A WISE DECISION SAYS CHIEF FAVOUR IZOUKUMOR

A notable traditional chief from the ancient Ogbe Ijoh Warri kingdom, in Warri South West LGA , Chief Favour Izoukumor has commended the Delta State Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for partially easing the lockdown in the state effect from Thursday 30 April 2020.
Chief Izoukumor gave the commendation via his verified tweeter handle on Wednesday while commenting on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa statewide broadcast on Tuesday April 28 2020.
He added that the partial relaxing of the lockdown in the state would no doubt boost socio economy activities in the state.
Chief Izoukumor who is a successful business man cum politician urged all residents in the state to maximize the temporary lockdown by adhering to the state government directives on maintaining social distancing on commercial vehicles and tricycles popularly called keke, putting on face mask when going out, observing not more than fifty persons in burial and marriage ceremonies, frequent washing of hands with soap under a running water, use alcohol based sanitizers as an alternative among others.
He lauded the state governor for the proactive measures he took during the four weeks of the lockdown that helped reduce the increase number of confirmed cases of COVID 19 in the state.
The Ijaw leader who pointed out that the four weeks of the lockdown actually brought hunger and hardships to many in the state, praised Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for not only setting up the state food bank but also ensured that the food items were evenly distributed across the twenty five local government areas of the state.
Chief Izoukumor a one time DESOPADEC commissioner and the current PDP chairman for Warri South West council area also thanked the Delta State Deputy Governor Barrister Kingsley Otuaro and other political and business leaders in Warri South West Council who complemented the state palliative by purchasing additional food stuffs that was distributed to the vulnerable and poor in the council area.
He therefore appealed to those who do not have any business leaving their homes to rather stay at home with the view of strengthening their family bonds.
