INCREASING COVID 19 CASES IN NIGERIA

CHIEF GEORGE TIMIYAN CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO REMAIN CALM AS COVID 19 CASE INCREASES

As the cases of coronavirus rises in Nigeria, a prominent Ijaw Chief from the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South West local government area Chief George Timiyan has called for calm for all Nigerians particularly Deltans.

Chief George Timiyan made the call recently via his various social media platforms while commenting on the increasing cases of the COVID 19 virus and in the country.

He noted that the interesting numbers was as a result of the increasing rate of testing.

Chief George Timiyan who is the Miyenkeremowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom added that the numbers of discharged cases who have recovered from the COVID 19 in Nigeria shows that coronavirus pandemic can be defeated.

He implored all Nigerians not to panick but rather adhere to the various health tips from the NCDC and other health experts in curtailing the ravaging coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The Gbaramatu Ijaw Chief who is also the MD/CEO of Geotimitek Nigeria Limited emphasized that coronavirus does not have the power to spread if we as a people decide to stay at home, cough or sneeze into our elbows or disposable tissues or handkerchief among others health tips.

Chief George Timiyan also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for partially easing the lockdown but urged Nigerians and Deltans to always put on face masks, avoid crowded places among others precautionary measures in containing the spread of the COVID 19 virus.

He however appealed to the Federal Government to extend it's palliatives and conditional cash transfer to Delta State, especially to the crude oil and gas producing communities where the nation's revenue is gotten from.
