 CONCERNED STAKEHOLDER CALLS ON GOVT AND NCDC TO PAY ATTENTION TO RIVERINE AND RURAL AREAS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID 19

A youth leader in the Niger Delta Region Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu has appealed to state government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC to pay more attention to the riverine and rural communities in the state in the quest for preventing the state from recording COVID 19 case.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu made the appeal via his social media handle while commenting on the day seven of the lock down directive by the Delta State Government.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu noted that the one week lock down in the state has not been easy for riverine and rural dwellers.

He stressed that most of the riverine and rural dwellers are mainly fishers men and women as well as farmers.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu who is also the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Don Daddys Dive, Offshore Services Limited pleaded that the state government set out days for these riverine and rural dwellers to go for fishing and farming, so as to enable them get agricultural products to sell.

The Niger Delta youth leader however implored the NCDC and the state task force on COVID 19 to as well supply riverine and rural dwellers with enough hand sanitizer, nose masks, hand gloves as well as educate them on the need to regularly wash their hands with soap and running water and keeping social distancing.

He therefore thanked God for making the state not to have recorded any confirmed COVID 19 case and also urged residents in the state to adhere to tips from health experts.
