CEPEJ COVID 19 GESTURE

*CEPEJ Distributes Palliatives to Cushion Effects of COVID-19 Lockdown on Residents in Parts of Delta State*

A Non Governmental Organization, NGO, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ has distributed food and other items to reduce the economic effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on indigent Deltans.

As the sit-at-home order by the State Government continues, the NGO has intervened in the plight of the less privileged in Okpe and Ogbe Ijoh Warri  kingdoms in Okpe and Warri South West LGAs of Delta State respectively, to put smiles on their faces.

The National Coordinator of CEPEJ, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade started the distribution at the Palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhue the First, in Orerokpe, the headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of the State.

Items donated by CEPEJ for onward distribution to the needy included hand sanitizers, liquid soap, plastic buckets for hand washing, and food items including gallons of palm oil, and bags of garri. The items were received by a palace official, Mr. Johnson Odumrhen on behalf of the Monarch.

Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South-West LGA also received the same items donated by CEPEJ for distribution to residents of the kingdom. The items were received by traditional chiefs on behalf of the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom who commended CEPEJ for being the first group to intervene in the sufferings of his subjects since the lockdown commenced.

The CEPEJ team also included the Chairman Board of Trustees, Dr (Chief) Godwin Orhadahwe, as well as Management staff from the Head Office of the NGO. The exercise continues with visits to other parts of the State.
