XENOPHOBIC : COM JACKSON TIMIYAN SAYS AIRLIFT OF NIGERIANS FROM S/AFRICA THE BEST THING TO DO.
A Niger Delta youth activist Comrade Jackson Timiyan has described the first batch of airlifted Nigerians from South Africa back home as the right thing to do.
Comrade Jackson Timiyan stated this in Warri while speaking on the Xenophobic attacks situation.
The Niger Delta youth activist condemned the Xenophobic attacks on foreigners especially Nigerians in South Africa.
Comrade Jackson Timiyan who was the immediate past Personal Assistant to the immediate past DESOPADEC commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality added that the South Africans have forgotten the roles played by Nigerians and other countries towards their attainment of independence.
He implored all Nigerians to welcome the victims of the xenophobic attack back home by assisting them to fully settle down and start up their lives, careers, businesses amongst others.
Comrade Jackson Timiyan who is the current secretary general of Kokodiagbene community in Warri South West local government area also urged the Federal Government to always provide basic social amenities such as stable electricity power supply, portable drinking water, good road network, standard education, healthcare delivery amongst others, so as to help discourage the exodus of Nigerians to foreign lands.
He however urged the ministry of foreign affairs to expedite action in airlifting the remaining Nigerians who have indicated interest in returning home.
