A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief Francis Omochovwen Arhiyor has on Friday congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa over his victory at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Asaba.

Chief Arhiyor congratulatory message was contained in a statement shortly after the tribunal judgement.

Reacting to the judgment, Chief Arhiyor, expressed confidence that the victory the electorates overwhelmingly gave to Governor Okowa would stand the test of any legal scrutiny in the law court.

 He advised the opposition to accept the judgment of the tribunal, since the opposition really had no evidence to substantiate its petition and support the PDP's agenda of building on the gains of Gov Okowa's first tenure.

Chief Arhiyor also used the medium to  call on the opposition, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sheath sword and join hands to develop the State.

The tribunal had on Friday dismissed the petition filed by Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru and the APC challenging the victory of Governor Okowa and the PDP  at the March 9, 2019 Governorship election.
