As part of activities to commemorate this year's International Day of Peace a non governmental organization NGO known as Peace Health Environmen Water and against Human trafficking PHEW has trained forty youths on solar technology
The Director General of the NGO Mrs Queen Uche Chigbo said that in line with the theme of this year celebration the body decided to take action in training the forty youths on solar technology to help protect the environment.
While speaking on the significance of Peace, the Director General of Peace Health Environment Water and against Human trafficking Mrs Queen Uche Chigbo an engineer said that peace guaranteed sustainable growth.
Mrs Chigbo noted that the foundation decided to train forty youths to mark this year's international day of peace with the theme- climate action for peace.
The Director General of PHEW pointed out that the three days free training on solar technology was in line with the theme of this year celebration which was climate action for peace.
She added that the foundation had over the years advocated for peace, health, protection of the environment, clean water and human trafficking.
The chairman of Udu local government Chief Jite Brown who spoke to newsmen said that peace is the duty of everyone.
Chief Amos Agboje commended the foundation for the initiative of marking the international day of peace by training the youths on renewable energy.
Some of the youths who benefited from the three day free training said it has been impartful.
Two lectures on climate change for peace and climate action for peace were delivered by Dr Gerald Okeke and Engineer Kayode Agbelusi.
The event by the foundation also featured presentation of certificates to the youths as well as award to some persons who had contributed to peace building.
