UZERE CLAN

UZERE CLAN IN ISOKO SOUTH LGA THREATENS TO WITHDRAW MEMBERSHIP FROM ISOKO DEVELOPMENT UNION IDU AND WITHDRAWAL OF HIGH CHIEF IDUH AMAIDHE FROM IDU.

Uzere Clan-

Some indigenes of Uzere clan in Isoko South local government area of Delta State have appealed to the Delta State Government and other relevant authorities to help resolve the lingering crises rocking the clan, so as to allow for sustainable growth in the land.

The indigenes made up of men and women as well as youths made the appeal on 28 of December 2019 during a peaceful protest to draw the attention of government to the issues in the clan.

The women of Uzere clan carried different placards with various inscriptions depicting issues agitating their minds and other members of their communities to the Delta State Government and other relevant authorities.

The men and youths were not also left out as they entered an emergency meeting simultaneously with the placards carrying women to chat a way forward for the clan.

The President General of Uzere clan Mr Felix Enwenede who spoke to newsmen in an interview said that the issues in the clan started since August this year when some persons from the clan allegedly tried to create division in the clan  over monies from an oil firm.

Mr Enwenede added that as a peace loving clan they wrote to the Isoko South council chairman, security operatives and the Uzere traditional council of chiefs with regards to the issues likely to threaten the peace and security of the clan.

The Uzere clan President General disclosed that stakeholders of the clan have reached a resolution to pull out its membership of the Uzere clan from the Isoko Development Union IDU.

He also added that the clan is withdrawing High Chief Iduh Amaidhe from IDU.

He alleged that the headship of IDU and some other persons are the ones fueling the crises in the clan and as a clan they would not want to continue identifying with IDU any longer.

The withdrawal document was signed by the President General Engineer Felix Enwenede,  the Oletu Odhe Chief Fredrick Uyeh, the Secretary General Apostle Patrick O Omoweh, the Oletu Uhei Quarters Mr Stanley Okoh, the Oletu Ezede Quarters Mr College Okpeke, Oletu Uweye Quarters Mr Michael Awonye, Chief Felix O Eyetuoma for the Uzere council of chiefs, Chief Tiro Odoh for Oletu Ewhyae, and Chief Omoweh Meeting for Oletu Ovrawah.

It is believe that the timely intervention of the state government and other relevant stakeholders on the issues will no doubt sped up the resolution of the lingering crises in the Uzere clan and the overall development of the area.
