In response to the State Government directives, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr Isaac Akpoveta says he has been able to attract government projects to his Community, Ofuoma, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The Community leader said it is in recognition of this, that the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom Oharisi the Third honoured him with a Chieftaincy title of the Royal Physician.
Apart from government projects like a new Police Divisional headquarters at Ofuoma, Dr Isaac Akpoveta also recently attracted a Customary Magistrate Court to serve the people within and neighbouring communities.
The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party has also donated a transformer and also funded the restoration of electricity to Ofuoma and other nearby communities.
In human capital development, Dr Akpoveta ensured that the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, Oharisi the Third and other indigenes of Ughelli Kingdom received health services.
It is in appreciation of this that the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom honoured Dr Akpoveta with a second Chieftaincy title of the Royal Physician of the great Ughelli Kingdom.
A letter written by the traditional ruler to commend the Medical Doctor was read by one of the palace chiefs at a reception held by Dr Akpoveta for dignitaries to celebrate the honour.
Dignitaries from within and outside Delta State attended the ceremony including the Chief of Staff Government House, Olorogun David Edevwie, wives of the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, top government officials and politicians.
Traditional Chiefs of the great Ughelli Kingdom were also in attendance.
Dr Akpoveta, his wife and other Chiefs presented gifts to dignitaries present. The popular Ema Dance of Ughelli Kingdom entertained.
Speaking to DRTV News, Dr Isaac Akpoveta said the honour will spur him to do more for the people of Ughelli Kingdom.
Elders of Ofuma Community, women and youth groups who also attended the reception lauded him for the series of development that has been attracted to the community in the past two years of the Okowa led administration.
