RIV: The Delta State commissioner for health Dr Mudi Okere says out of the eight Lassa Fever cases recorded in the state seven are recovering with one dead.

Dr mudi made this known at the weekend at an exclusive interview on the Lassa Fever with DRTV crew of Omonigho Edaah and Oke Ebinum.

Dr Mudi Oke while speaking on Lassa Fever in the state said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa swiftly set up a high power committee to help curtail the spread of Lassa Fever in the state.

Dr Mudi emphasized that the committee members have been working assiduously to sensitized Deltans on Lassa Fever.

Dr mudi disclosed that so far right cases have be identified stressing that out of the eight was dead while the others are responding to treatment.

Dr midi said some of the symptoms are weakness of the body, bleeding from the nose and mouth, body pains, constant vomiting, headache among others fever symptoms.

He called on anyone having the symptoms to visit an health facility for proper diagnosis.

He added that some of the ways to avoid Lassa Fever disease is for one to improve personal hygiene, cover foods properly, avoid spreading food outside, clean their surroundings, wash dirty plates.
