FUNERAL OF BISHOP PROF BEAUTY OKAH

FINAL RITE OF PASSAGE OF LATE BISHOP BEAUTY OKAH

The remains of late Bishop Beauty Okah, Professor Mike Okah's wife, were laid to rest at her home town Orerokpe in Okpe local government area of Delta State at the weekend.

The burial ceremony was preceded by a service of songs at Christ the Rock Kingdom Church, Warri, attended by family members, friends and well-wishers.

After a brief stop over at her husband's residence in Warri, the corpse was taken to Baptist High School Orerokpe for a funeral service graced by family members, many friends and Church Ministers including the former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and his wife, the Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Govt, Mrs. Ann Iniovosa, amongst other dignitaries.

In a sermon, Archbishop Solomon Gbakara said everyone would give an  account of his life to God, and urged all to always live a holy life to avoid condemnation.

In his remarks, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor described Bishop Beauty Okah as a force to reckon with in the body of Christ, while Mama Ayo Oritsejafor and other pastor's wives paid glowing tributes to the late Beauty Okah and  thanked God for using her to do great exploits while on earth.

The eldest child of the deceased, Bishop Oghenevwede Abiye-Sibi described her mother as a successful Christian who affected the lives of many people positively.

The eldest son Odjuvwu Okah who sent his tribute from the United States of America, described his mother as a role model who touched lives through the orphanage, the church and other humanitarian platforms.

The remains of late Bishop Beauty Okah, nee Onose, was later committed to mother earth at her residence in Orerokpe, with Bishop Diamond Emuobor presiding over the grave side service.

Shortly after the burial, a son-inlaw of the late Bishop Beauty Okah, Bishop Abiye-Sibi also led his people from Rivers State to pay his last respect to his late mother-inlaw according to Okpe tradition and customs.

Bishop Beauty Okah was born on January 15, 1951 and died in 2019 at age sixty nine.

She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Archbishop Mike Okah, many children, grandchildren, as well as her siblings.
