AUGOYE'S FOUNDATION DONATE NOTEBOOKS TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN OKPE LGA

The Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye has presented notebooks to pupils in some primary schools in Okpe Local Government Area.



According to the Commissioner, the notebooks presented through the Chief James Augoye Foundation was to mark his birthday anniversary and meant to promote qualitative education in the Council Area.



On Monday 17th May, 2021, will remain indelible in the minds of primary pupils in Okpe LGA especially those with humble background, as Delta State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye through his Foundation, presented notebooks to them.

Presenting the notebooks on behalf of the Chief James Augoye Foundation, his Media Aide, Comrade Obaro Egagifo, said the gesture was to mark the birthday anniversary of Chief James Augoye.

Comrade Egagifo noted that, primary education is the foundation of education and should be taken seriously, hence the Commissioner decided to support them with the notebooks.

He explained that, due to the hardship caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, most parents find it difficult to fend from for the educational needs of their children and the gesture was meant to ameliorate their plight.

Comrade Egagifo urged the beneficiaries to make effect use of the item and promised to continue to assist them.

He said, Chief Augoye has opened skill acquisition centres in Orerokpe and Adeje towns, where youths are trained free of charge in various vocations.

Comrade Egagifo added that, Chief Augoye has also carried out palliative work on the failed portions of the Old Adeje - Otomewo road.

Some members of the Chief Augoye Foundation said the gesture was part of the Commissioners efforts to ensure pupils in Okpe LGA have equal access to education.

Some Head teachers of the benefitting schools including Mr Edirin Olukuyon and Mr Fidelis Mebitaghan as well as the beneficiaries thanked Chief James Augoye for the gesture.

The benefiting schools are Ugbokodo Primary School Ugbokodo, Ometan Primary School Ughoton, Ogiendo primary school Jeddo, Adane Primary School Orerokpe, Orhue Primary School Orerokpe and Ogoni Primary Aghalokpe.

Others are Adeje Primary School Adeje, Opuraja Primary School Opuraja, Oyenke Primary School Oyenke, Umuaghwa Primary School Umuaghwa.
