AGBARHO MONARCH CONFERS CHIEFTAINCY TITLES ON ILLUSTRIOUS SONS.


The Osuvie Of Agbarho Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Williams Onokpite at the weekend conferred chieftaincy titles on twenty-two illustrious sons of the kingdom at his palace in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom said the Chieftaincy titles conferred on the twenty-two illustrious sons of the kingdom was in recognition of their contributions to the peace, unity and progress of Agbarho Kingdom.

The monarch expressed confidence that the honour will spur them to do more and urged prominent indigenes of the kingdom to work towards the progress of the kingdom, noting that such acts will not go unrecognized.

He prayed for the new chiefs and urged them to be good ambassadors of the kingdom and use their new position to promote peace and unity in their Communities.

The Osuvie commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his development strides across the state especially in Agbarho Kingdom and appealed to him to site more projects in the kingdom in recognition of their peaceful disposition and support for his administration.

A prominent Chief in the Kingdom and one of the  kingmakers, Chief Sunday Anaughe said the event was to appreciate the selfless contributions of the beneficiaries towards the peace and development of Agbarho Kingdom.

Chief Anaughe disclosed that the reign of His Royal Majesty Williams Onokpite  has ushered in tremendous peace and development to the kingdom.

He equally urged all sons and daughters of Agbarho Kingdom both at home and in diaspora to join hands with the Osuivie in moving the kingdom forward.

For his part, the President General of Agbarho Urhobo  Improvement Union, Olorogun Monday Odiphri said the conferment of chieftaincy titles on illustrious sons who have distinguished themselves in life, will motivate the beneficiaries to do more and encourage others to emulate them.

Chief Odiphri commended the Osuvie for  the recognition and prayed God to grant him long life and peaceful reign.

For his part, the chairman of the Agbarho traditional council of Chiefs, Chief Osiobe Okotie charged the new Chiefs to be good ambassadors of the kingdom and also to see their new status as a call for more service.

Some of the new Chiefs thanked God and the Osuvie for the recognition and promised to do more for the kingdom.
