PERE OF GBARAMATU KINGDOM CELEBRATE DIAMOND JUBILEE INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY OF NIGERIA WITH KOKODIAGBENE COMMUNITY WOMEN.
The Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South West Council Area of Delta State on Thursday celebrated the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria with women from Kokodiagbene community.
The diamond jubilee independence anniversary of Nigeria which also collided with the birthday of the Queen of Gbaramatu kingdom.
The Kokodiagbene community women used the medium to present birthday cake to the Queen of Gbaramatu kingdom as well as present a portrait picture of the Gbaramatu Monarch to him.
The Gbaramatu monarch Oboro Gbaraun the second who spoke in Ijaw dialect gave a brief history of the different struggles that led to the independence of Nigeria from her colonial master on October 1 1960.
Oboro Gbaraun the second lauded the Kokodiagbene community women for deciding to marked the diamond jubilee independence anniversary As Nigeria marks its diamond jubilee independence anniversary, the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun the second has called on Nigeria women to always contribute their quota to nation building.
The Gbaramatu Monarch made the call on Thursday at his palace in Oporoza Headquarters of the kingdom when Kokodiagbene community women came to celebrate the day with him.
He described the diamond jubilee celebration of the nation as a unique one.
Responding on behalf of the Kokodiagbene community women, Mrs Loveth Eguare in her speech said they came to the royal majesty palace to celebrate the country which turned 60th.
She lauded the Gbaramatu kingdom Pere for sustaining the prevailing peace in the area, adding that his reign has brought people's oriented growths to the land.
She however solicited that Kokodiagbene community women should be carried along in terms of empowerment and appointment.
The 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria was later climaxed with the cutting of the Nigeria cut as well as singing of birthday songs to the Queen of the Gbaramatu Monarch who also turns plus one.
