BAD ROAD

ROAD USERS OF THE WARRI SAPELE BENIN EXPRESSWAY CALLS ON FG TO FIX FAILED PORTIONS OF THE FEDERAL ROAD.

The Amukpe/Sapele/Mosogar section leading to the Amukpe Bridge on the Warri Benin expressway has become a nightmare to motorists and other road users due its deplorable state as heavy duty vehicles and smaller ones spent hours in navigating their ways to their various destinations.

Our news correspondent on Saturday September 5 2020 went there to feel the pulse of vehicle operators where he was inundated by vehicle owners who complained bitterly about their plight before calling on the federal government to fix the bad portions of the road to alleviate their sufferings.

Some sections of the Warri Benin Expressway by Amukpe Roundabout leading to the Amukpe Bridge is now in a deplorable state.

Heavy duty vehicles and smaller cars are struggling to pass through the already bad road while some trucks that could not wriggle their way through broke down thereby compounding the already worse situation.

However, in other to make ends meet, Some food vendors also took advantage of the situation to sell drinks, water and other consumables to users of the road.

The camera lens of our news crew also captured some youths who were collecting money from the road users so as to enable them pass through a makeshift road into Amukpe town.

Speaking on the horrifying experience, some of the drivers said that passing the road is like a nightmare.

They added that it is not only difficult to navigate their ways through but also stressed that they spend longer hours navigating their ways to their various destinations.

While lamenting the attendant cost of fixing their vehicles damaged by the road, they however appealed to the Federal Government to urgently fix the bad portions of the road to prevent it from getting worse than its current state.
