...WINDOWS IN WARRI SOUTH LGA RECEIVES MONTHLY STIPENDS FOR DECEMBER 2019 AND JANUARY 2020.

Widows in Warri South Local Government Area of the state that are under the Delta State Widows Social welfare Scheme have commended the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for promptly paying their monthly stipends.

The Widows in their numbers gave the commendation on Monday January 13 2020 at Governor's House Annex Warri, during the collection of their monthly stipends for the month of December last year and January this year.

Our correspondent reports that the Coordinator of the Widow Social Welfare Scheme for Warri South Council Area, Hon. Hope George said that the scheme has so far improved the wellbeing of the widows.

Beneficiaries  of Delta State Widows Social Welfare Scheme in Warri South Local Government Area started the monthly collection of stipends for the month of December 2019 and January 2020 with Prayers for the Delta State Governor, DR Ifeanyi Okowa, in the state among others.

The Coordinator of the scheme for Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Hope George after addressing the widows, said that the scheme which was initiated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is part of his passion to assist the widows in the state.

Hon. George who is also  the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, added that what Governor Okowa needs from the windows are their prayers.

He disclose that over six thousand widows in the state have so far benefited from the scheme, stressing that over two hundred widows in Warri South have benefited.

Hon.George who expressed confidence that the Delta State Governor would continue with the scheme, till the end of his administration, added that plans are on to accommodate more widows across the state.

Some of the benefiting widows who spoke to newsmen thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for always paying them their monthly stipends.

The widows prayed God to continue to bless the state Governor and his family as well as the coordinatorof the scheme for Warri South Council Area, Hon. Hope George.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of the monthly stipends to the benefiting widows.
