DELTA STATE FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO KOKODIAGBENE COMMUNITY

KOKODIAGBENE COMMUNITY RECEIVES FOOD ITEMS FROM DELTA STATE GOVT : APPEALS FOR MORE

The Secretary General of Kokodiagbene Community in the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South West Council Area, Delta State, Comrade Jackson Timiyan has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the distribution of food to his community.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan gave the commendation while speaking on behalf of the Kokodiagbene Community Executives in Warri.

The Kokodiagbene Community Scribe who confirmed the delivery of the state government palliative to the poor and vulnerable in his community, said that those in charge of distributing the food items actually distributed to the target people.

He added that the food items no doubt will go a long way in addressing hunger in the crude oil and gas producing community.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan who is a youth activist in the Niger Delta Region lauded the Delta State Government for the distribution and also solicited for more to be done.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan pointed out that the difficult terrain of the coastal community couple with the stay at home directive has brought more hunger to his people.

The Kokodiagbene Community Secretary General emphasized that as a crude oil and gas producing community the poor and vulnerable in the community also deserve to benefit from the Federal Government  conditional cash transfer and as such appealed to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disasters Management and Social Services, Sadiya Umar Farouk to ensure that the twenty thousand naira conditional cash transfer is disburse to the poor in Kokodiagbene Community.

Food items received in Kokodiagbene community headquarter of ward twenty, in the presence of the community leaders of the two major oil communities are twelve bags of rice, sixteen bags of beans, nineteen bags of garri, one hundred and twenty two tubers of yam, twenty two carton of indomie noodles, two bags of onions, four gallons of palm oil, four cartons of vegetable oil, cooking cubes and bags of salt.



The General Secretary of Kokodiagbene further used the medium to appreciate politicians and businessmen of the council area such as Chief Favour Izoukumor, chairman PDP W.S.W, Hon. Emomotimil Guwor, member, DTHA, Mr George Ekpemupolo, Hon. Mofe Pirah, Commissioner, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Hon. Taiye Tuoyor, Mr. Sunny Omuje, Tompolo foundation, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, Chief Barr. Bosin Ebikeme, Hon Johnbull Edema, Hon Sylvester Oromoni, Chief Boro Opudu, Egbema and Communities Development Foundation(EGCDF) and a host of others who complemented the palliative gesture of the State Government by contributing their quota in alleviating the sufferings of the people of the oil rich riverine areas of the Local Government Council.
