The chairman of the People's Democratic Party PDP in Warri South West Local Government Chief Favour Izoukumor has lauded the role played by the Delta State Deputy Governor Barrister Kingsley Otuaro and other leaders of the party before, during and after the PDP congress.

Chief Izoukumor made this known recently while commenting on his emergence alongside other executives of the party at the PDP local government area congress election.

Chief Izoukumor also used the medium to called on party faithful to continue working assiduously in building a more stronger PDP party in the council area.

He noted that Warri South West Council Area for over the years has been a PDP council area.

Chief Izoukumor who was the PDP campaign coordinator for Warri South West Council Area during the last year General Elections noted that him and his executives are determined to consolidate on the gains of the immediate past executives in positioning the party for more winning waves in subsequent elections.

Chief Izoukumor who was the immediate past Ijaw DESOPADEC commissioner appealed to all aggrieved members of the party during the congress process to set aside any differences and join forces with him and his executives in moving the great PDP party forward.

The Warri South West PDP chairman also reiterated that the PDP umbrella is big enough to cover all and as such calls on non members to join the fold.

A prominent chief in the Ijaw nation, Chief Linus Yeinanagbegha has felicitated with His Royal Majesty Elder (Capt) King Joseph Timiyan JP, Torububou 1 Agbonu, the Ebezinawei of Ogulagha kingdom as he celebrate another royal birthday.

Chief Linus Yeinanagbegha felicitation was contained in a congratulatory message signed by him and made available to newsmen.

Chief Linus Yeinanagbegha who is also the Perewenebuonimiwei of Ogulagha kingdom described the royal birthday of the Ogulagha monarch as historic and one worth celebrating.

He added that the people of Ogulagha are proud to have Elder (Capt) King Joseph Timiyan JP, Torububou 1, Agbonu, the Ebezinawei of Ogulagha kingdom as their monarch.

Chief Linus Yeinanagbegha who is also the chairman of Ogulagha Kingdom Cluster Development Board prayed God to grant the monarch divine wisdom like King Solomon in the Bible, so he can lead his subjects well on the extolled throne of his ancestral fathers.

He however on behalf of himself and his lovely family wished the Ogulagha monarch happy birthday, long life and prosperity with sound health

A Niger Delta Youth Activist Comrade Jackson Timiyan has felicitated with the newly elected chairman of the People's Democratic Party PDP in Warri South West LGA Chief Favour Izoukumor.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Warri said that the position of Chief Favour Izoukumor is a well deserved one, not only to himself but the party.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan who was one time Personal Assistant to Chief Favour Izoukumor in the former DESOPADEC Board said that going by the stuff Chief Izoukumor is made up of, he is  certain that  he will deliver on the task ahead.

He added that Chief Izoukumor has committed much to the success of the PDP party ,citing the role he played during the last General Elections as the PDP coordinator of Warri South West LGA as a show of true party stalwart.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan who is the current Secretary General  of Kokodiagbene Community maintained that Chief Izoukumor is one man who is specialist in making small things into BIG things for the general interest of all.

He also stressed that Chief Izoukumor is one that is proficient in piloting the party at the LGA to a greater heights.

A youth leader in the Niger Delta Region Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu says the birthday of His Royal Majesty, Elder Captain King Joseph Timiyan JP, Torububou 1 Agbonu, the Ebezinawei of Ogulagha kingdom is a royal birthday that is worth celebrating.

Engineer Don Dickson Ogugu stated this recently in a congratulatory message to the Paramount Ruler of Ogulagha kingdom as he clocked plus one.

The Niger Delta Youth Leader added that the birth of the Ogulagha Monarch into the world some years ago was indeed a blessing not only to the Ogulagha people but to the Ijaw nation and beyond.

He said that the reign of Elder Captain King Joseph Timiyan JP Torububou One, Agbonu, the Ebezinawei of Ogulagha kingdom has actually brought peace to the riverine rich oil and gas producing kingdom.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan congratulatory message was contained in a press release made available to some newsmen in Warri.

He pointed out that the Ogulagha monarch is one Ijaw Pere that has done well on the ancient throne of his forefathers.

Comrade Jackson Timiyan a younger brother of the Ogulagha Paramount Ruler added that adding plus on the earth deserve to be celebrated.

The member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Honourable Francis Waive has called on Nigerian youths to strive for excellence in leadership.

Honourable Waive made the call at the weekend when he presented a paper titled Excellence In Leadership In A Place Like Nigeria at the auditorium of the Edwin Clark University Kiagbodo in Burutu local government area of Delta  State.

While presenting a paper titled Excellence In Leadership In A Place Like Nigeria, the Honourable member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency said that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow.

Honourable Waive added that for the today youths to become excellent leaders of tomorrow, they must start preparing themselves now for leadership position.

The Federal Lawmaker disclosed that before becoming a lawmaker he has always encouraged youths to acquire education that will position them for excellent leadership.

The Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Parliamentarian stressed that Nigeria as a country is blessed with mineral, natural and human resources which deserve excellent leaders to harness.

Honourable Waive noted that Nigeria since independence has experienced corruption but hinted that the President Mohammadu Buhari administration is trying to fight corruption.

He frowned at the local parlance statement Who Education Help by some youths and as soon implored the youths to acquire education and strive to be excellent in whatever they do.

Honourable Francis Waive later presented some copies of his latest book titled Road To The House to the Edwin Clark University Kiagbodo.

He was also presented an award by the Students Representative Body of the institution.

FOURTEEN DAYS PRAYER AGAINST COVID - 19

CORONAVIRUS...BISHOP AJOPAROGENE OKEJENU SAYS GOD WANT THE CHURCH TO PRAY.

As concerned stakeholders across the globe continue to search for a permanent cure to the ravaging coronavirus, a servant of God Bishop Ajoparogene Okejenu has called on the church of Christ to embark on a fourteen day prayers.

Correspondent reports that Bishop Ajoparogene Okejenu made the call on Friday when he led members of his church to the Edjeba premises of Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Warri to pray against coronavirus pandemic.

As early as nine on Friday morning members of the Praise God Revival Ministry led by its founder Bishop Ajoparogene Okejenu converged on Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Warri Edjeba premises.to pray for the end of coronavirus.

Bishop Ajoparogene Okejenu said that God told him to tell the church to fervently pray for fourteen days.

He added that the fourteen days prayers start from Friday 20 of March this month.

The Bishop of Praise God Revival Ministry emphasized that on the last day of the fourteen days prayer the Pastors of the various churches should come outside the church with his church members to pray with their head facing the sky.

 The clergy maintained that is one way to end the ravaging coronavirus which has killed many as we as crippled world economic.

What is really on the minds of many is to see an end to coronavirus and if it can be tackled with prayers then everyone will be glad.

WAIVE'S SERIES OF MEETINGS WITH CONCERNED STAKEHOLDERS

CONSTITUENCY MEETING : HON WAIVE ASSURE CONSTITUENTS OF EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION.

The member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Francis Waive says in less than a year in the house, he has moved two bills, sponsored ten motions and carried out some basic empowerment programmes for his constituents.

Honourable Waive disclosed this on Saturday March 21 2020 when he held a series of meetings with some concerned stakeholders from his constituency at his Ughelli North constituency office.

The Federal Lawmaker, Honourable Francis Waive told the ward chairmen of the All Progressive Congress APC from his constituency, his appointees, students body, among other concerned stakeholders that he has been able to rendered quality representation in the green chamber.

He maintained that as a first timer in the house of representatives, he has made necessary input in the budgeting process at the floor of the house.

The parliamentarian added that the essence of the series of meetings with the various concerned stakeholders from his constituency was to enable him feel the pulse of his people so as to make him know how to effectively represent them in the hallow chamber.

He implored party faithful to always remain loyal, assuring that better days lie ahead.

He however promised his constituents that he would continue to sponsor bills and raise motions that will have direct impact to his people.

Honourable Waive called on members of the party who are yet to benefit to exercise little patience, stressing that all will be carried along in the scheme of things.

He told his constituents that he is replacing the cooperative scheme he promised them with a CBN grant.

He stressed that he is planning to pay for hundred persons drawn from the three local government areas of Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu to undergo the process of obtaining the grant.

While commenting on the crisis that almost tore the party at the national, Honourable Waive commended the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo Agege for the role him and other leaders of the party played in resolving the crisis.

Some of the concerned stakeholders who spoke at the different sessions of the meeting  lauded Honourable Francis Waive for his robust representation at the National Assembly.

They thanked him for always identifying with his people but also solicited that he use his position to attract more federal empowerment to his people.

FUNERAL OF LATE MRS FORCADOS AKPAMAH EGHAGHA

THE FINAL RITE OF PASSAGE OF LATE MRS FORCADOS AKPAMAH EGHAGHA AT HER COUNTRY HOME.

The remains of late Mrs Forcados Akpamah Eghagha was on Saturday 14 March 2020 laid to mother earth at her country home in Mereje town in Okpe local government area of Delta State.

Correspondent reports that the funeral of late Mrs Forcados Akpamah Eghagha was attended by the wife to the Delta State House of Assembly speaker Mrs Tobore Oborevwori, the Regent of Okere Urhobo kingdom Warri Chief Wilson Eboh, the member representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie constituencies at the House of Representatives Honourable Efe Afe, the member representing Warri South constituency two at the Delta State House of Assembly Honourable Matthew Poko Opuoru, the President General of Okpe Union Worldwide Okakuro Robert Onome, the Delta State Commissioner for Works Okakuro James Augoye, the Delta State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW Chief Francis Arhiyor, the chairman of Okpe local government Chief J J Scott, a former civil commissioner in the state Professor Hope Eghagha, the chairman of the local government service commission Honourable Joseph Otirhue, a former chairman of Okpe local government Prince Godwin Ejinyere among others.

One of the funeral officiating ministers Evangelist Solomon Gedu in his message titled Where will you spend your eternity, said that hell fire and heaven are real.

Evangelist Gedu added that as humans on earth one is expected to spend eternity either in heaven or hell fire after one's life on earth.

He pointed out that what qualify one to spend eternity in heaven is living a life that please God adding that living a life which does not please God is a ticket to hell fire.

The last child of Mrs Forcados, Mr Freeborn Eghagha who read the biography gave a run down history of his mother's life while on earth.

In a glowing tributes Mr Freeborn Eghagha described his mother as a passionate woman who served God and humanity while on earth.

He stressed that him and his siblings would greatly missed their mother but however gave thanks to God for granting his mother old age.

Mr Freeborn Eghagha thereafter thanked everyone who took out time in joining his family to bid farewell to their mother.

Late Mrs Forcados Akpamah Eghagha who died at the age of 102 years old was survival by six children among others family members.

She will be fondly remembered by many

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.....

 ...NIGER DELTA WOMEN IN DIALOGUE COLLABORATES WITH MSDF TO CELEBRATE THE DAY.

The Niger Delta Women  In Dialogue on Thursday in collaboration with Morgan Smart Development Foundation joined the  rest of the  world  to celebrate  the 2020 International  Women's Day in Warri. 

The event which was attended by the Nigeria  Association  of Women  Journalists NAWOJ and other developmental Non Governmental Organization NGOs as well as participants of women  from  different  fields of life featured speakers who centered their messages on the  significance of women and advocacy for gender equality in Nigeria.

The International Women's Day is a day set aside by the United Nations General Assembly on March 8 every year.

In celebrating this day women from different fields of life converged on Warri to preached the gospel of gender equality for all in the society.

The convener of the event Dr Evelyn Omawumi - Urhobo in her  speech said that the 2020 celebration is a landmark one because it marks the silver jubilee anniversary of the Beijing declaration on the affirmative action for women.

Dr Omawumi Urhobo who is also the President of Morgan Smart Development Foundation  added that the Niger Delta Women in Dialogue plans are to use the celebration to bring the Niger Delta Women together to sensitize and expose Niger Delta women to various aspects of social economic and political activities that will enable them to be well informed to make choices that will improve their well-being.

For her the chairman of the event Dame Florence Ehinlaiye emphasized that women needs to build confidence in whatever they are doing in life.

A crusader for gender equality in the Niger Delta, Dr Joyce Ogwezi stressed that women needs to be in the place of decision making in any endeavor, so as to make a difference.

The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs Flora Alantan represented by a Director in the ministry Mrs Faith Okpohuwrho said that the ministry has done much in advocating for women's rights.

Some who spoke in their goodwill messages including the wife of the Pere of Egbema kingdom, the representative of Warri South Council Area Mrs Ann Iniovosa, the representative of the Center For Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ Mrs Tina Agidi, Mrs Fejiro Ugute among others all stressed that women folks have what it takes like their male counterparts in making their marks in the society.

Papers were presented on linking women's rights to gender equality and the implications for development in the Niger Delta by Dr Joyce Ogwezi, Poverty Alleviation and Economic Empowerment of Women, the role of NGOs and CBI in engendering Sustainable Development in the Niger Delta by Barrister Bridget Ayanfulu, the Role of Women in Politics in Promoting Women's Mainstreaming for Sustainable Development by Mrs Tos Kunene among others.

The women later carried placards with different inscriptions and embarked on a brief procession to canvass for gender equality.

PDP EWU WARD ONE CONGRESS

RIGHT HONOURABLE PRECIOUS EJENAKE EMERGES CHAIRMAN OF PDP EWU WARD ONE DURING PDP WARD CONGRESS

The ward congress of the People's Democratic Party PDP across the twenty five local government areas of Delta State was also held at Ewu Ward One in Ughelli South local government area.

Correspondent reports that the PDP ward congress at Ewu Ward One was held under a peaceful atmosphere with Honourable Precious Ejenake emerging as the PDP Ewu Ward One chairman.

Some leaders of the party present at the ward congress were Chief Emmanuel Ejenake, Honourable Paul Etaga, Honourable Josephine Oduaran, Madam Mercy Ugbobo amongst others.

Faithful of the People's Democratic Party PDP in Ewu Ward One in Ughelli South local government area of the state on Saturday in their numbers converged on Egheka Primary School Ewu to elect the executive that will pilot the affairs of the party at the ward level for the next four years 

Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, were on ground to conduct the congress as well as observers, to monitor the congress exercise.

At the end of the whole processes a seventeen member executives emerged with Honourable Precious Ejenake as the chairman of PDP Ewu Ward One.

Honourable Ejenake in his speech thanked leaders of the party in the ward for their roles played in projecting the party in good light.

Honourable Ejenake who was one time leader of the Ughelli South legislative Arm of Government pledged that him and his exco will work hard in making the PDP party in Ewu gain more grounds.

He emphasized that the PDP family in Ewu Ward One is a formidable one and thus implored all party faithful to continue to work in unity.

The Ewu Ward One PDP chairman stressed that PDP is a party of the grassroots.

A one time chairman of Ughelli South local government Honourable Paul Etaga in his remarks congratulated the new Ewu Ward One PDP executive.

Honourable Etaga urged the seventeen member executive to carry member as well as win more persons to the PDP fold
