RIV: Many young lads are busy indulging in unproductive ventures, with some engaging in criminality and other social vices in the country.

Some are, however, engaging in meaningful ventures, using their God given talents positively, especially in this age of technological advancement.

Master Great Faith from Akwa-Ibom is one such youth using his talent positively, as he has manufactured a prototype excavator.

Master Faith, who brought his manufactured prototype excavator to Edjeba premises of Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri, said he hopes to be a Mechanical Engineer.

That is Master Great Faith, manufacturer of a prototype excavator demonstrating how his invention works.

Master Faith, a sixteen year old young boy, manufactured this prototype when most of his age mates are involved in quick money syndrome and not putting their innovation cap on. 

The Senior Secondary School Three student of Government Technical College, Uyo,  Akwa Ibom State, said he made the prototype excavator which took him five months to make from plywoods and used syringes and it works with water.

The young manufacturer, who spoke of his inspiration, said that as a teenager he  always wanted to be an Automobile Engineer, adding that with teaching from his Physics Teacher, he was able to produce the prototype excavator.

Master Faith, who disclosed that he has always been supported by his parents, noted that supports from well-meaning Nigerians will help him go further in his dream.

Young Great Faith no doubt needs the support of government and good spirited Nigerians to become the Henry Ford in the country where most vehicles used are imported.

RIV: How would you feel after undergoing a life threatening medical process to deliver your baby but cannot get access to your bundle of joy?

This is the sad tale of a nursing mother, Mrs Gift Ekong, allegedly prevented from accessing her baby after a caesarean section until she pays her hospital bill of seven hundred and eighty thousand naira.

While appealing for financial assistance from well-meaning Nigerians, Mrs EKong gave the name of the hospital in custody of her child as Mordi Care Hospital Limited, Ajamimogha Warri South, Delta State.

Mrs Gift Ekong, who is married to Mr Emmanuel Utitofon and they are both from Akwa-Ibom, said she gave birth to a baby boy through caesarean section on December 6, 2023, and her good news was short lived when they were slammed with a hospital bill of seven hundred and eighty thousand naira.

The nursing mother said 200,000 naira had earlier been deposited at the said private hospital, known as Mordicare Hospital, Ajamimogha, Warri where her child is allegedly being held in custody.

According to the sad mother, she delivered through CS at Central Hospital Warri but was referred to another hospital because her baby was breathing abnormally.

She and her husband according to her later took the new baby to the said Mordicare Hospital, Warri where she delivered her first child.

Accompanied by concerned friends and neighbours, Mr Ekong is soliciting financial support from the State Government, well meaning Nigerians to enable them pay the hospital bill, discharge and return home.

 DELTA STATE ACCORD PARTY REFUTES CLAIMS OF ORGANIZING SECRETARY ACCUSING GOV. OBOREVWORI OF LOPSIDED APPOINTMENTS


The leadership of Delta State Chapter of Accord Party have refuted claims of it's Organising Secretary, Prophet Ayo Ashiedu accusing Delta State Governor, Right Hon Sheriff Oborevwori of lopsided appointments.


In a statement released by the Publicity Secretary of Accord Party in Delta State, Mr Felix Okei described the statement of Prophet Ayo Ashiedu as an unfortunate and unguided utterance from a mischievous person who does not have the right to speak on behalf of the party.


He explained that by the Constitution of the Party, Three offices are authorised to make public statements on behalf of the Party, which are the State Chairmen, State Secretary and the Publicity Secretary, so whatever Prophet Ayo Ashiedu has said is his personal views and not that of the party.


Delta Accord Party Publicity Secretary added that, their findings revealed that Prophet Ayo Ashiedu does not really understand the functions of his Office as the Organising Secretary hence he flagrantly abuses it by making some unguided and unauthorised public utterances. 


Mr.Felix Okei stated that,  the position of Prophet Ayo Ashiedu as the State Organising Secretary is even on acting capacity as it is yet to be rectified by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Party , noting that the Party is seriously reviewing his numerous issues.


He tendered the sincere apologies to the State Governor, Right Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and urge the general public to disregard whatever statement coming from the Clowned Prophet Ayo Ashiedu
